🎃 Autumn Harvest & Exotic Encounters: An October Trip to Mainsgill Farm!

Before the Christmas rush begins, join us for a day of crisp air and autumn flavours! Our October mini-bus trip takes us to ‘Mainsgill Farm Shop’ near Richmond, where the farm is transformed for the harvest season.

This trip is all about the sights, sounds, and smells of autumn—from the giant pumpkin patch to the hearty “winter warmer” treats in the food hall.

🍂 October Highlights

• The Great Pumpkin Patch: October is pumpkin season! We’ll visit the patch where you can hear the rustle of the vines and feel the sheer size and variety of the gourds. It’s a fantastic sensory experience, and our guides will be on hand to help you pick out the perfect “whopper” to take home.

• Exotic Residents: The farm’s more unusual inhabitants are always a highlight. Come and say hello to the camels, ostriches, llamas, and alpacas. You can hear the unique calls of the birds and, if you’re lucky, catch the camels during their afternoon feeding time.

• The Autumn Food Hall: The shelves will be bursting with seasonal produce. Scented with woodsmoke and spices, the food hall is the place to find local orchard apples, seasonal crumbles, and the farm’s famous home-reared meats.

🥧 A Hearty Autumn Lunch

We’ll gather for a warming group lunch.

• On the Menu: Expect seasonal specials like rich beef stews made with their own grass-fed beef, giant homemade quiches, and their legendary “award-winning” fruit pies served with thick custard—perfect for a chilly October day.

• The Setting: The tea room is spacious and accessible, offering a relaxing atmosphere to chat and enjoy the views across the Holmedale Valley.
